Bratislava, May 13 (TASR) - The Opposition on Thursday was again unable to hold an extraordinary parliamentary session on the Greek rescue package that was summoned earlier this week by Parliamentary Chairman Pavol Paska (Smer) in line with a petition signed by opposition MPs. Too many lawmakers were missing even at the fourth attempt to open the session.
Only 62 out of the 150 lawmakers were present in the House, well short of the required minimum for a session - 76.
MPs from the coalition Smer-SD and LS-HZDS parties have been blocking the session from the very beginning, On Thursday, however, some Slovak National Party (SNS) MPs and 14 Independent MPs were missing as well. The opposition parties were also short of several MPs, mainly from the ethnic-Hungarian SMK party, while one MP each for SDKU-DS and KDH were also absent.
