Sulik: Judges' Rulings and Attitudes Make Them Unfit for Their Jobs

Bratislava, May 7 (TASR) - Given their decisions and attitude to their work, judges have rendered themselves unfit for the job, head of the fledgling Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party Richard Sulik told TASR on Friday.
"They've shown that as a whole they're inept, and that's why the judiciary is such an abysmal state," said Sulik. He added that his view is based on lawsuit protractions and frequent court rulings that fly in the face of common sense.
"Due to procedural mistakes, a dangerous murderer or mobster is often set free," added Sulik.
After the election, SaS will strive to bring a system of checks and balances into the judiciary, as he claims that the current regime is not working. "Conditions for judges are too loose. This results in them doing whatever they want, and this is unacceptable. This is a misconception of (judicial) independence," he added.
