Bratislava, May 6 (TASR) - An association of employers warned on Thursday that the alliance between the strongest coalition party Smer-SD and trade unions – Confederation of Trade Unions (KOZ) – could lead a further rise in joblessness and a loss of competitiveness for businesses.
The Republic Union of Employers was responding to KOZ unions' call on their members to vote in the June 12 general election to vote for Smer-SD, which they see as a guarantee of current social peace.
RUZ urged KOZ leaders to stay out of politics and set about tackling problems besetting people in Slovakia.
Premier and Smer-SD Robert Fico and KOZ President Miroslav Gazdik signed a co-operation deal on March 19, 2010. KOZ backed Smer-SD during the 2006 election as well.
