Chinese Company Interested in Investing in Railway Projects in Slovakia

Bratislava, May 3 (TASR) - China Railway Signal and Shanghai Engineering International Co. Ltd. expressed its interest in investing in railway projects in Slovakia at the EXPO Shanghai 2010 shortly after its opening in the Chinese city on May 1.

Economy Ministry State Secretary Lubos Halak told representatives of China Railway Signal and Communication Group Corporation in talks at the Slovak pavilion to make a formal approach to the Transport Ministry, adding that his country is interested in foreign investment in this sector.

The state-run company, which engages in the maintenance of rolling stock and the planning and laying of tracks in Asia and Africa, said that it is currently planning to build a railway network in Europe for trains travelling at 200-350 kmph.
