The so-called notice-board tender scandal at the Construction Ministry, which cost two SNS ministers their posts (Marian Janusek and Igor Stefanov), was nothing but a 'big bluff', SNS chair Jan Slota said on STV political talk show 'O pat minut dvanast' (5 Minutes to 12) on Sunday.
The Supreme Audit Office (NKU) in March expressed doubts concerning the use of €4 million, following which Stefanov was sacked. "Stefanov said clearly that the money will be returned, however," said Slota.
"On the other hand, we aren't speaking about the electronic road-toll tender, which has been dealt with by international courts, and an international disgrace from Slovakia is now looming large. A firm (SkyToll) was selected that had the most expensive bid, by €7 billion, and was the least competent as for technologies," he noted. [SkyToll has been said to be close to the J&T financial group, which has been linked with the main governing party Smer-SD running the Transport Ministry - ed. note.]
Meanwhile, Stefanov saved billions in euros for Slovakia in drawing eurofunds, which was badly prepared by the former Mikulas Dzurinda-led government. Moreover, most flats since 1989 have been constructed in this term – when the Construction Ministry has been under the remit of SNS, claimed Slota.
