New York, May 1 (TASR) - Slovakia's Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajcak wrapping up his visit to the United States towards the end of this week met for talks with noted American entrepreneurs of Slovak ancestry, the ministry reported Saturday.
Lajcak presented plans of the Slovak Government, which is looking to diversify investment into information and computer technology, biotechnologies, renewable resources and applied research. He pointed out that stable and strong relations between Slovakia and the U.S. are a basis for further economic co-operation including innovations and technology transfers.
Entrepreneurs inquired about the current political situation in Slovakia and its economic prospects while praising the country's economic achievements and political stability.
The sides have also thrashed out ways of maintaining national consciousness with Slovaks living in the U.S. and seen eye-to-eye on the importance of cultural events hosted by national embassies abroad. With that in mind Lajcak invited entrepreneurs to attend the 5th Slovak Fashion Night that presents domestic culture and arts, scheduled for May 14 in New York.
