Average Nominal Salary in 3Q09 Rose by 2.5 percent Y-o-Y

Bratislava, December 3 (TASR) - The average nominal salary in Slovakia reached €722.51 per month in the third quarter of 2009, a year-on-year increase of 2.5 percent, the Statistics Office reported on Thursday.
According to the statistics, the average real salary rose by 1.3 percent y-o-y in the same period.
The highest nominal salary in 3Q09 was paid in the information and communication technologies sector - €1,281.85 per month, followed by earnings in financial and insurance - €1,267.47. Accommodation and food services remained bottom at €515.40 per month.
The most significant y-o-y increases in nominal salaries in 3Q09 were: in administrative services - 10.6 percent, and in the arts, entertainment and tourism - 9 percent.
Nominal salaries fell y-o-y in 3Q09 in electricity and gas supplies - 8.8 percent, in real-estate services - 6.1 percent, and in accommodation and food services - 5.3 percent.
