Nitra, April 29 (TASR) - The two-day fair JobExpo, which is the largest job bourse in Slovakia's history, kicked off in Nitra on Thursday.
"A total of 149 exhibitors are taking part in the event. They're directly offering jobs," said Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Minister Viera Tomanova, adding that the fair features both domestic and foreign entrepreneurs, educational institutions and universities.
"As many as 400 such jobs are available for the approximately 12,000 jobseekers we expect to come," said Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Centre (UPSVaR) general director Jan Sihelsky. He noted that among the exhibitors is also the Eures network, offering almost 900,000 jobs throughout the EU.
Economy Minister Lubomir Jahnatek, who was also present at the job fair, said that JobExpo attests to the way in which the labour market is gradually recovering from the economic crisis.
"Fortunately, unemployment growth has come to a halt for three months now. The biggest exporters, the largest producers in Slovakia have predicted a return to pre-crisis production volumes, which is, of course, connected with hiring new workers," Jahnatek pointed out.
