New Research-Technology Complex to Be Built at Kosice Tech University

Kosice, April 23 (TASR) – Education Minister Jan Mikolaj along with the rector of Kosice's Technical University (TUKE) Anton Cizmar and mayor of Kosice Frantisek Knapik in a special ceremony on Friday laid the foundation stone of a new multi-purpose research-technology complex to be called TECHNICOM.

Kosice University drew up the project and is also the investor. "The purpose is to put the innovative ideas devised by our students and employees of the university into practice via companies. We want this region to come to life, so that young people won't have to go away, but can set up their own companies here, offering sophisticated products and services," Cizmar told TASR.

The multi-purpose building is to be constructed within 30 months. TECHNICOM will be made up of 1,400 square metres of offices, 1,300 square metres of laboratory units, lecture halls, a restaurant and a small sports facility.
