Most-Hid: OSCE Intends to Evaluate General Election in Slovakia

Bratislava, April 22 (TASR) - The Organisation for Security and Co-Operation in Europe (OSCE) wants to evaluate the pre-election environment and preparations for the upcoming general election June 12. To this end, OSCE delegation met with Most-Hid party representatives Rudolf Chmel and Laszlo Nagy, TASR learned from Most-Hid press secretary Nora Czuczorova on Thursday.

According to Czuczorova, Most-Hid leadership introduced its political party to a three-member OSCE delegation, informing them about the aims of the party on the current political scene.

"We warned them that a danger of political parties using the so-called Hungary card in the election campaign exists, especially with (governing) Slovak National Party (SNS), LS-HZDS and Smer-SD," said Nagy.

Most-Hid representatives also told the delegation about unfair allocation of airtime for promotion of political parties on state-owned Slovak television STV.

"Also, we cautioned OSCE that there's a possibility that Roma votes might be bought," said Chmel. Most-Hid has called on all political parties to distance themselves from buying Roma votes.
