Eurovea to Be Opened Officially on Saturday, April 24

Bratislava, April 22 (TASR) - The grand opening of the new shopping district Eurovea on the left bank of the Danube River in Bratislava will take place on Saturday, April 24.
Following the opening of the 5-star Sheraton Hotel Bratislava in February and the shopping zone Eurovea Galleria in March, the public square and riverbank promenade will be turned over to Bratislava city for public use.
The riverfront park occupies an area of two hectares, and the new square is regarded by experts as one of the largest new squares in Europe. "We believe that the park along with square will become a favourite site for relaxation and entertainment for Bratislava inhabitants and visitors," said Mike de Mug, retail director of developer Ballymore Group (Ireland).
Eurovea's opening ceremony will take place between 11 a.m.-10 p.m. and will feature entertainment by dozens of dancers, musicians, artists and theatre troupes. The City of Bratislava will be taking advantage of the occasion to launch its new monthly magazine Metropola - Stare Mesto (Old Town). At the end of festivities there will be a fireworks display.
