Bratislava, April 20 (TASR) - Political analyst Miroslav Kusy told TASR on Tuesday that he was surprised to hear the results of the public opinion poll conducted by the Median SK agency, indicating that he was incredulous about the high popularity of the three governing parties (Smer-SD, SNS and HZDS).
"I don't like it ... it seems to be dubious and strange, but I've no reason to cast doubts on the quality and objectivity of the analysts (who conducted the survey)," said Kusy, adding that he will reserve judgement until other polls are released.
Had an election taken place in March, leading coalition party Smer-SD would have garnered 44 percent of votes, far ahead of Opposition SDKU-DS party and Christian Democrats (KDH), each of whom were on 13.1-percent support in the poll. The 5-percent threshold would also have been breached by the Slovak National Party (SNS) on 7 percent of votes and LS-HZDS party on 6.1 percent.
Meanwhile, Freedom and Solidarity/SaS (4.3 percent), ethnic-Hungarian SMK (3.9 percent) and Most-Hid (2.3 percent) wouldn't get into Parliament.
"Movements of parties around the threshold of 5 percent will be very flexible until the vote takes place (June 12)," said Kusy, adding that there's a high degree of volatility among a considerable number of voters, who may make up their minds in the polling booth.
