Bratislava/Vienna, April 19 (TASR) - A cooperation agreement was signed between Slovakia's capital city Bratislava and the Austrian capital Vienna by their respective mayors Andrej Durkovsky and Michael Haupl on Monday that deals with a wide range of developments impacting the two cities – the international capitals in the closest proximity to one another anywhere.
The deal is a follow-up to the current cooperation between both capitals regarding infrastructure, land use planning, flood protection, culture, education and youth as well as joint funding projects involving the European Union.
Vienna was also part of a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation signed April 14 with a number of municipalities situated along the Danube River as part of the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region.
