SDKU-DS Launches Election Campaign Based on Four Pillars

Kosice, April 17 (TASR) - Opposition SDKU-DS party officially started its election campaign in Kosice on Friday night, TASR has learnt.

"We'll go through the whole of Slovakia during the next two months. We want the election campaign to be about topics, solutions and problems that people really care about," said SDKU-DS election leader Iveta Radicova, adding that the party had the surveys done about these issues before launching the campaign.

"Our campaign will be built on four pillars. These are SDKU-DS's programme, meetings with people, an intensive use of the Internet, modern technologies and social networks and the fourth pillar is including our regional structures into the central campaign and into five individual regional campaigns," specified Radicova, adding that their messages should be mostly directed on the middle class.

SDKU-DS representatives want to visit more than 750 towns and villages, which will cost about €1.3 million. The party will take a loan from a commercial bank for this purpose.

Chairman of the European People's Party (EPP) Joseph Daul came to support the party at the campaign opening as well.
