Tomanova: If Social Enterprise Violates Contract, I'll Back Out of It

Bratislava, April 14 (TASR) - If a social enterprise violates the agreement, Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Minister Viera Tomanova is ready to terminate co-operation with it, she said after a Government session on Wednesday.

Tomanova, however, refused to comment on whether such concerns may be fulfilled. Contracts with two of the eight pilot social enterprises have already been cancelled. "Don't jump the gun," she said.

"We're regularly working with the social enterprises, checking them. Immediately one of them violates the agreement, (or) makes a fraud, I have the full right to back out of the contract. And I don't care, who would violate it," said minister Tomanova.

After the scandal surrounding Arvik social enterprise, another contract with a company called Horehronsky socialny podnik (Upper-Hron social enterprise) was cancelled this month due to problems related to proving its incomes.

In addition, there are indications that another enterprise - Revuca (Banska Bystrica region) Social Enterprise - may be in trouble, according to the European Commission audit report. This time, there are problems with dubious links between the owner and supplier and sales under the price.
