Lajcak Discusses EU's Eastern Partnership with NGOs

Bratislava, April 13 (TASR) - Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajcak on Tuesday met representatives of the country's non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to discuss the eastern dimension of Slovakia's foreign policy, ministry spokesman Peter Stano told TASR later in the day.
"Mr Lajcak's recent trip to the South Caucasus and his planned visit to Ukraine were the main topics discussed," said Stano, stressing that Slovakia aims to boost its engagement in the area to help the region's countries via the EU's Eastern Partnership Programme.
"The gist of it lies in proposals for cooperation mainly in transformation processes where Slovakia, given its recent experience, has a specific know-how," asserted Stano, adding that Lajcak aims to share and combine this experience with the expertise of the NGOs.
