Sielnica, April 10 (TASR) – Economy and tourism are the main priorities, which the new political party 'Union - Party for Slovakia' would promote if it gets into Parliament after the elections scheduled for June 12, party head Milan Cilek said at a press conference in Sielnica (Banska Bystrica region) on Saturday. According to Cilek, the Union - which was created by a merger of three parties - Free Forum (SF), Liga and Civic Candidates (OK) – is a proof that people are able to unite in politics, if it is about a good thing. He added that the Union's election programme, presented at the press conference, is rightist oriented and non-populist.
Leader of Union's slate (and former SDKU-DS member and unsuccessful candidate for Bratislava governor) Branislav Zahradnik said he wants to promote improvement of traffic and environment in towns by building road bypasses. He also wants to promote free-of-charge internet.
Number two on the party's slate, mayor of Presov Pavel Hagyari, wants to deal with high unemployment rate and develop poor regions. Head of SF Zuzana Martinakova, who is number three on the slate, said she will promote a human, true and fair social programme that is supposed to support young families and elderly.
Entrepreneur Boris Kolar will be responsible for the area of tourism.
Union - Party for Slovakia wants to focus on as many people as possible during their campaign. The party meetings will be organised in all Slovak regions.
