Slovak Presidential Standard Flying at Half-Mast to Honour Kaczynski

Bratislava, April 10 (TASR) - Slovakia's President Ivan Gasparovic on Saturday ordered to half-mast the presidential standard on the top of the Presidential Palace in Bratislava to honour his Polish counterpart Lech Kaczynski, who perished in a plane crash in western Russia earlier in the day, Gasparovic's spokesman Marek Trubac has told TASR.

The 88-member Polish delegation, which included Kaczynski's wife Maria, army chief Franciszek Gagor, Central Bank governor Slawomir Skrzypek, military bishop Tadeusz Ploski and other officials, was on the way to Smolensk to mark the 70th anniversary of the Katyn massacre.

The Russian Emergency Control Ministry said that nobody of the 96 people on board of the Tupolev TU-154 plane survived the crash.
