UniCredit Bank: Minor Shareholder Bullying Us with Lawsuit

Bratislava, April 9 (TASR) - Global Pacific West, a minor shareholder of UniCredit Bank Slovakia, on Friday announced that it has drawn up a lawsuit aimed at reversing the results of the bank's General Assembly on Thursday.

The Bratislava-based shareholder complains about alleged faults in the activities of UniCredit's statutory body that are said to be at odds with the bank statutes, the Trade Code and the Banks Act.

"All these faults will be articulated soon in the form of a lawsuit to be filed at Bratislava I District Court, in which Global Pacific West will demand a revocation of the decisions adopted at yesterday's (Thursday) general assembly," reads a statement provided to the media.

Meanwhile, UniCredit Bank Slovakia insists that the General Assembly on Thursday was in line both with the bank statues, the Trade Code and the Banks Act.

"It's for the third time that the aforementioned (private equity) company, whose share in the banks makes up around 0.02 percent, has filed such a 'bullying' lawsuit, which we definitely view as irrelevant," UniCredit Bank spokesperson Zuzana Dudakova told TASR.

At the general assembly, the bank decided, among other matters, about distributing €19.56 million from the 2009 profit of €22.1 million among the shareholders.
