Foreign Trade Recorded Surplus of €67.1 million in February

Bratislava, April 9 (TASR) - Slovakia's foreign trade posted a surplus of €67.1 million in February, the country's Statistics Office announced on Friday.
Total exports from Slovakia – wherein automobiles make up about a third – reached €3.46 billion in February, which represents a 19-percent year-on-year increase. Imports, for their part, went up by 17.5 percent to €3.39 billion.
When both January and February are taken into account, exports went up by 16.6 percent on annual terms to €6.55 billion. Imports rose by 8.5 percent to reach €6.38 billion.
Over the first two months of 2010, Slovakia's foreign trade recorded a surplus of €168.9 million. By comparison, foreign trade posted a deficit of €263 million in January and February 2009.
