Slovakia Ready for EXPO Shanghai 2010

Bratislava, April 8 (TASR) - Slovakia stands ready to take part in the world exhibition EXPO Shanghai 2010, set to run May 1-October 31, General Commissioner of the Slovakia's representation in the event Ivana Magatova said at a press conference in Bratislava on Thursday.
"The trial operation of the Slovak pavilion begins as of April 20," said Magatova.
According to her, the Slovak team has done their utmost to capitalise on the opportunity to promote Slovakia in the world. Magatova believes that despite the financial limits they had to operate under, the expo will still boast a varied and high-quality programme.
"We're convinced that Slovakia's participation in EXPO Shanghai 2010 will be successful, enhancing the diplomatic and cultural relations as well as trade and commerce," said Roman Hruzik, director of the EVKA agency, which is minding the Slovak pavilion at EXPO Shanghai.
Magatova said that the official launch of the exhibition will take place on April 30. It is due to be opened by Economy Ministry's state secretary Lubos Halak along with Slovak ambassador to China Frantisek Dlhopolcek.
Slovakia's National Day is planned for September 4, and will feature the participation of Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic.
