Lajcak Holds Talks with Israeli Foreign Affairs Minister in Athens

Athens, December 1 (TASR) - Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajcak met his Israeli counterpart Avigdor Lieberman on the sidelines of the Organisation For Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) summit in Athens on Tuesday, TASR learned from ministry spokesman Peter Stano on the same day.
Both ministers have appreciated the good quality of bilateral relations and discussed the actual situation in the mid-East. Lajcak inquired about the possibility of restoring the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, which has failed to date.
In order to take part in the peace talks, Palestine has required Israel to stop the construction works at Jewish settlements in Palestinian regions and east Jerusalem. The Israeli Government conveyed its willingness to halt the housing construction works for nine months.
