Bratislava, April 7 (TASR) - Bratislava I District Court on Wednesday gave the go-ahead to small financially struggling airline Air Slovakia, which operates out of Bratislava airport and has had its operating license temporarily revoked, to restructure itself.
Air Slovakia had its operating license suspended in the first week of last month by Slovakia's Aviation Authority in order to allow the Transport, Posts and Telecommunications Ministry to examine its financial viability.
The ministry expects Air Slovakia to submit the documents required for restructuring, said Transport Minister Lubomir Vazny following the Government's weekly policy meeting on Wednesday. "It has had its licence suspended. If it submits the relevant documents we'll work it out, but the ball's in its court now," he said concerning the possible reinstatement of the licence.
The licence suspension is expected to cause a 3-percent decline in the annual number of passengers handled at Bratislava's M.R. Stefanik Airport and a corresponding reduction in revenues.
