Bratislava, April 5 (TASR) - Slovakia and Kyrgyzstan do not have three basic agreements - on co-operation, double taxation prevention and investment protection - signed, which would help to develop mutual trade.
"There is no possibility to speak about transfer of Slovak capital to Kyrgyzstan (pop. 5.1 million) without these basic contracts," Economy Minister Lubomir Jahnatek told TASR on Monday, adding that the contracts are currently being worked on.
Jahnatek said there is demand for any kind of trade in Kyrgyzstan, one of 15 Soviets that made up the Soviet Union until 1991. "The country has already created some sort of legal framework and it is creating conditions for the acceptance of foreign investors ... so that they will receive similar assurances as in other destinations," he explained.
Slovakia would like to intensify trade relations. Co-operation should mainly include the military-technical sphere.
