Astana, March 30 (TASR) - Slovakia wants to develop nuclear reactors of the fourth generation in co-operation with Kazakhstan and Japan, said Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic after discussions with his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev in Astana on Tuesday.
"We're ready to provide training courses for operating personnel at nuclear power-plant simulators, as well as for co-operation in developing nuclear reactors," said Gasparovic.
Slovakia wants to take part in the development of gas reservoirs and providing know-how not only in Kazakhstan, but also in other Central-Asian countries. "We're very interested in co-operation. This plays an important role in strengthening secure gas supplies," he added.
Slovakia will also look into the possibility of importing nuclear materials for its nuclear power plants from Kazakhstan. "These are all open issues for the future and I think that they are very important for the economies of individual countries," said Gasparovic.
