More Than 151,700 Vehicles Registered into eToll System

Bratislava, March 29 (TASR) - More than 151,700 vehicles from 66 countries including Slovakia registered into the electronic road-toll system from January 1-March 21, TASR learned from the toll provider SkyToll on Monday.

The Slovak vehicles amounted to 61 percent of all registered vehicles, with the remaining 39 percent being the cars of foreign transporters.

Over the course of three months the toll system has been in place it has raised more than €23 million in revenues to the state budget, with 45 percent of that sum paid by foreign hauliers - in particular those based in Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Lithuania.

Some 115,704 vehicles were registered in pre-paid mode, with 36,030 lorries registered post-paid.

The toll system is applied on 570 km of highways and expressways along with 1,820 km of first-class roads. The transporters have 105 toll shops at their disposal.
