Fico Strongly Condemns Terrorist Attacks in Moscow

Bratislava, March 29 (TASR) - Prime Minister Robert Fico strongly condemns the terrorist attacks that occurred during the morning rush hour in Moscow on Monday, the press and information department of the Government's Office told TASR later in the day.

There is nothing to justify the killing of innocent civilians, reads the statement. "This tragic event confirms that terrorism is a threat for all, which makes it necessary to combat it together," adds the Office.

In this connection, Fico pledged full support to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and the Russian Cabinet in its fight against terrorism and in the adoption of all necessary precautions in order to ensure the safety of all Russia's citizens.

As well, the Slovak premier expressed condolences to relatives of the blast's victims.

At least 37 people were killed and another 65 injured in two explosions in the Moscow metro during the morning rush hour on Monday. Two female suicide bombers are thought to be responsible for the attacks, which have been described as the worst incident in the Russian capital for six years.
