J&T Sells Its Hospitals to VFSolutions

Bratislava, November 30 (TASR) - The Slovak private equity group J&T has sold its business in the healthcare sector to a Slovak company called VFSolutions, J&T spokesman Maros Sykora told TASR on Monday.

"We've entered the healthcare sector with the intention of building a functioning system of all-inclusive care for the client within the medium-term horizon. The amendments in legislative and in the healthcare sector as such have forced us to abandon the market and we have not been able to realise these intentions fully," says Ivan Jakabovic, one of the J&T's founder. According to Jakabovic, several companies showed interest in J&T's position in the sector, with VFSolutions submitting the best conditions.

According to VFSolutions spokesperson Veronika Deckerova, the company will make use of its extensive professional experience in healthcare sector in order to ensure the functioning and profitable operation of all these healthcare institutions. This change will not affect the contractual obligations of the hospitals' management.

"Part of the deal is also the sale of the 100-percent share of the company "Svet Zdavia" (Health World) and other institutions through which J&T was running Railway Hospitals in Kosice and in Bratislava, General Svoboda Hospital in Svidnik (Presov region), Andrej Leno Hospital in Humenne (Presov region) as well as several smaller healthcare institutions," explained Sykora.
