Bratislava, March 27 (TASR) - Supporters of far-right organisation Slovenska Pospolitost (Slovak Togetherness) gathered in Bratislava on Saturday in order to commemorate the 11th anniversary of NATO-led bombing Serbia.
Bombing Belgrade began on March 24, 1999, when the NATO took action against Serbia's unwillingness to make concessions to Kosovo and requirements of Albanian people.
After the Serbian anthem was played at the gathering, head of Slovenska Pospolitost Ivan Sykora addressed a speech to those who came to commemorate the events of 1999. Laying wreaths and lighting candles followed afterwards, including photographs entitled "Serbian victims of Albanian and American slaughter" put on display.
The gathering also commemorated what they called "the events two years ago, when Albanians illegally declared their state in Kosovo at odds with the international law".
Frantisek Peczar from the Bratislava regional police directorate told TASR that the gathering took place in a calm atmosphere, with no disturbances being reported.
