Bratislava, March 26 (TASR) - Opposition SDKU-DS election leader Iveta Radicova didn't adopt its billboard slogan 'For the People and About People' from the Czech Communists, as Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) claims, but from LS-HZDS, former three-times premier and HZDS head Vladimir Meciar said at a press conference on Friday.
"We had it 11 years ago. It was taken over from us completely, including the blue colour. It's true that she (Radicova) published a book (bearing a similar title), but I have spoken about it already," stressed Meciar, adding that he doesn't lay any claims to the authorship, however. "Let them enjoy it," he said.
He further noted that he himself adopted the slogan from the German socialists, and the fact that it is now being used by SDKU-DS, as a rightist party, testifies to the "miserableness" of the party.
Fico earlier this week described using the slogan by SDKU-DS as a 'theft crying to heaven for vengeance'.
