Bratislava, March 25 (TASR) - Slovakia hadn't the cheapest diesel in the EU during the 11th week of 2010, benzin.sk reported on Thursday referring to Eurostat data – notwithstanding the excise tax cuts introduced here earlier this year.
The current price of diesel in Slovakia is €1.049 per litre, which is the 17th lowest in the EU.
"In Slovakia we filled up the 15th most expensive petrols (including taxes) at an average price of €1.231 per litre. The most expensive petrols were in the Netherlands - €1.497 per litre, while the cheapest were at stations in Cyprus - €0.997 per litre.
"Both petrols and diesel were cheaper in Poland than in Slovakia last week," said the website, adding that if tanking up in Poland, motorists would have been able to save 9.2 cents and 1.6 cents per litre respectively.
