Government Allocates €14 million to Social Service Providers

Stara Lubovna, March 24 (TASR) - Public and private providers of social services will receive almost €14 million from the state as compensation for providing them, Prime Minister Robert Fico announced after the Government session in Stara Lubovna (Presov region) on Wednesday.

The regions will be given €6.4 million to finance social services provided by public providers. "We want these public institutions to work, so that nobody can make excuses that they cannot function due to problems in the economy - both in Slovakia and in the whole of Europe," said Fico.

Social institutions that are run by towns and villages will obtain over €7.26 million. All institutions set up after July 1, 2002 will be entitled to allocations.
