Bratislava, March 24 (TASR) - The opposition SDKU-DS party will press for better conditions for mothers on maternity leave as part of the manifesto for the June 12 general election that it intends to unveil on Saturday, it emerged following a meeting between SDKU and representatives of municipalities and NGOs on Wednesday.
"We need to do away with discrimination against mothers, which has been incorporated into adopted laws. It's necessary to adopt a so-called maternity amendment bringing work and family conditions into harmony in both the Labour Code and other legislation," said the party's election leader Iveta Radicova.
SDKU, local council officials and the NGOs discussed support for the middle class and families with children, as well as care for the elderly and children's rights.
