Bratislava, March 23 (TASR) - Ireland's budget airline Ryanair based in Bratislava announced plans to expand its destination network to include Sardinia, the second-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea after Sicily, the Bratislava airport spokesperson said on Monday.
The first flight into Alghero, the town of over 40,000, is due to take off on Thursday, June 24, with twice-a-week flights on Thursday and Sunday.
Sardinia is one of five Italian autonomous regions along with Sicily, Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, Aosta Valley and Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
