Slota: Environment Ministry Led by Smer-SD in Total Chaos

Zilina, November 29 (TASR) - The move by Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) to take away the Environment Ministry from under Slovak National Party's (SNS) remit in late August and assign it to his own party was purpose-built, SNS leader Jan Slota said at a party convention in Zilina on Sunday.

According to Slota, Smer nominees at the ministry (Deputy Premier Dusan Caplovic, who acted as interim minister, and Jozef Medved, who replaced Caplovic as a more permanent minister) have set back several projects, such as construction of ducts and sewerage systems.

"I have personal experience from talks with several investors, who told me that currently there is total chaos at the ministry ... The result will be that the money will have to be returned to Brussels," cautioned Slota.
