Bratislava, November 29 (TASR) - Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) took away the Environment Ministry from under Slovak National Party's (SNS) remit for absolute inability of its nominees to run the ministry without scandals, Smer spokesperson Katarina Klizanova Rysova told TASR on Sunday in response to SNS chairman Jan Slota's criticism levelled earlier in the day at the party convention in Zilina.
She stressed that the ministry has been led well since it was assumed by Smer in late August.
Slota said that the move by Fico to take away the Ministry from under SNS's remit and assign it to his own party was purpose-built. He added that Smer nominees at the ministry (Deputy Premier Dusan Caplovic, who acted as interim minister, and Jozef Medved, who replaced Caplovic as a more permanent minister) have set back several projects, such as construction of ducts and sewerage systems.
"I have personal experience from talks with several investors, who told me that currently there is total chaos at the ministry ... The result will be that the money will have to be returned to Brussels," cautioned Slota.
