New Slovak Ambassador to China Presents Credentials to Hu Jintao

Beijing/Bratislava, March 19 (TASR) - New Slovak ambassador to China Frantisek Dlhopolcek on Friday presented credentials to China's President Hu Jintao, Slovakia's Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman Peter Stano told TASR on the same day.

During a friendly talk, Dlhopolcek emphasised that Slovakia considers the bilateral relations between Slovakia and China as trouble-free and friendly. He spoke highly about Hu's visit in Bratislava last year that marked the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between former Czechoslovakia and China.

The Chinese president said that he is content with the current development of the bilateral relations and praised the good co-operation in trade, science and research. He thanked for greetings delivered from Slovakia's President Ivan Gasparovic and sent him a greeting as well. In addition, he appreciated that Gasparovic will personally open Slovakia's National Day at the EXPO in Shanghai.
