Lajcak Visits Armenia as Part of Tour of South Caucasus

Yerevan/Bratislava, March 19 (TASR) - Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak visiting Armenia on Thursday as part of his whistle-stop tour of countries in the South Caucasus this week agreed with his counterpart Edward Nalbandian on the need for more intensive bilateral ties between Armenia and Slovakia, the Foreign Ministry said in Bratislava on Friday.
The two signed a memorandum of both foreign ministries on co-operation in Armenia's bid to join the European Union and an intergovernmental agreement on air services. Lajcak also extended an offer to co-operate as part of the European Union's Eastern Partnership.
During his visit to Armenia, Lajcak also met President Serzh Sargsyan and Premier Tigran Sargsyan, and opened a business forum attended by the Slovak entrepreneurs in his entourage and their Armenian counterparts.
