EU-harmonisation Inflation Stood at 0.5 percent in February

Bratislava, March 16 (TASR) - EU-harmonised inflation in Slovakia came in at an all-time low of 0.5 percent year-on-year in February 2010, representing a 0.2-percentage-point decrease from the figure recorded in February 2009, the Statistics Office said on Monday.
Harmonised inflation stayed put month-on-month in February. Prices in food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 0.12 percent, in healthcare by 0.04 percent, and in recreation and culture and in restaurants and housing up by 0.02 percent. Prices fell in transport by 0.11 percent and in furniture, in clothes and in posts and telecoms by 0.01 percent.
Inflation calculated by local methodology stood at 0.4 percent in February, up from 0.2 percent in January.
