Caklov, November 28 (TASR) - Opposition Christian Democrats (KDH) chairman Jan Figel, who cast his vote in the second round of the regional elections in the village of Caklov (Presov region) on Saturday, said that he would welcome the regional and presidential elections in 2014 to take place together.
"The election procedures in Slovakia differ from each other and aren't clear enough," said Figel, adding that one single election code should be introduced that would deal with all kinds of elections in Slovakia.
"At the same time, certain voting procedures should be arranged on one date," said the former eurocommissioner. "I can imagine one round of the presidential elections and the European Parliament elections to be set on one date," said Figel, pointing out that this is a common practice in several European countries.
