Inflation Accelerated in February, Reaching 0.4 percent Y-o-Y

Bratislava, March 11 (TASR) - Inflation measured by the national methodology reached 0.4 percent in February 2010, accelerating from the 0.2-percent level the previous month, the Slovak Statistics Office reported on Thursday.
The y-o-y net inflation reached 1.1 percent in February, remaining on the same level as in January. Conversely, the y-o-y core inflation grew to 0.4 percent, compared to 0.2 percent in January.
The net inflation influenced the core inflation by 0.01 percentage points, while the food prices had an influence of 0.14 percentage points. The core inflation (aggregate price growth excluding food and energy) in February, compared to January, influenced the overall inflation by 0.14 percentage points, regulated prices by 0.01 points and there was a negative effect on direct taxes as well - by 0.11 percentage points.
