Bratislava, March 11 (TASR) - The freshly-dismissed construction and regional development minister Igor Stefanov will be advising Education Minister Jan Mikolaj in the Construction Ministry-related agenda, as Mikolaj was on Thursday appointed by President Ivan Gasparovic to replace Stefanov in the post.
Mikolaj announced his decision to use Stefanov as an advisor within his newly-commissioned portfolio later in the day.
Commenting on having dismissed the second SNS nominee from the post of construction minister over the same issue (the scandalously overpriced notice-board tender), Mikolaj only noted that "it's politics".
"I'm convinced that if the election date wasn't three months away, SNS would definitively be calling on Prime Minister Robert Fico to have a full-time minister installed," said Mikolaj. "We all understand sitting on two seats and properly managing two ministries is impossible," stated Mikolaj, the only SNS minister to stay in his chair as education minister since the government was appointed in mid-2006. He added that he takes his being commissioned to manage the Construction Ministry "pragmatically, as a duty".
