Belousovova: We Won't Keep Quiet About Smer's Failings Anymore

Bratislava, March 10 (TASR) - The Slovak National Party (SNS) views Prime Minister Robert Fico's (Smer-SD) call for Construction and Regional Minister Igor Stefanov (an SNS nominee) to resign as a gesture of open criticism of Smer's coalition partners, SNS vice-chair Anna Belousovova said at a press conference on Wednesday.
Stefanov said that he doesn't see any reason to resign over issues for which his predecessor Marian Janusek was responsible.
According to Belousovova, SNS is now ready to discuss the specific faults of its coalition partners. The party will now inquire into the drawing of Eurofunds by the Government Office for which Deputy Premier Dusan Caplovic (Smer-SD) is responsible, the lack of clarity surrounding the social enterprises that come under the remit of Labour Minister Viera Tomanova (Smer), and the case involving state-run betting company Tipos, which was handled by the Finance Ministry headed by Jan Pociatek (Smer).
"We've kept our mouths shut for a long time, but we won't anymore ... The ministers from Smer that made errors left their posts with their heads up, because they were provided for. But SNS ministers are being treated like dogs being turfed out of a yard," said Belousovova, adding, however, that the Coalition will still complete the current term of office that will end with the parliamentary elections in June.
Fico on Tuesday called on Stefanov to resign over failures that the Supreme Audit Office (NKU) discovered in the use of funds spent under the so-called notice-board tender.
