Kramplova Accepts Invitation to Join Urbani's Party

Bratislava, March 9 (TASR) - Independent MP and former foreign affairs minister (1997-98) Zdenka Kramplova said on Tuesday that she has accepted an offer from her former fellow member in co-ruling LS-HZDS, Milan Urbani, to be a deputy chair of the recently-formed Alliance for the Europe of Nations (AZEN), of which he is chairman.

"I am excited about our continued partisan collaboration," said Kramplova, who was expelled from LS-HZDS in November of last year for breaking the party's statutes by failing to report her running in the 2009 regional elections while Urbani had to quit, among other things, over electioneering for the European Democratic Party (EDS) in last year's regional elections.

Urbani confirmed the information for TASR, saying that Kramplova's extensive professional career, which includes a stint as ambassador to Canada later in 1998, make her a benefit for AZEN and Slovakia as a whole.
