Bratislava, March 5 (TASR) - The Government's measures aimed at softening the impact of the global economic crisis have met and are continuing to meet their primary objective, that is the partial elimination of the negative repercussions of the global crisis on Slovakia, the Economy Ministry said on Friday.
In its report dealing with the Cabinet's measures vis-a-vis the economic woes experienced in 2009, the ministry also said that Slovakia's moves are in accord with measures in fellow EU-member countries and with the EU's European Economic Recovery Plan.
"At the same time, we concur with the views of several EU-member states as well as European institutions that there is no need at the moment to draw up further measures, but that it is necessary to support the measures that have been adopted and have proven to be most effective," reads the report.
Allowances towards maintaining and creating jobs, which have swallowed up €35 million, were described as the most effective measures.
As regards the effectiveness of drawing funds, the programme of heat-insulation of buildings (€71 million) and the scrapyard contribution (€50 million) were assessed as the most successful.
