Police Reject Paluda's Criminal Complaint Against Harabin

Bratislava, March 2 (TASR) - The police have also rejected a third criminal complaint filed by Supreme Court judge Peter Paluda against the Court's Chairman Stefan Harabin, TASR was told by Police Presidium spokesperson Andrea Polacikova on Tuesday.

"An investigator of the Anti-corruption Office of the Police Corps Presidium rejected the complaint on February 17, 2010," said Polacikova.

Paluda filed the criminal report in July 2009, accusing Harabin of misusing his authority, carrying out several organisational changes and stopping bonuses after assuming the post of the Supreme Court chair. Harabin said at the time that he wasn't worried about Paluda's "false" accusations.

Originally, Paluda addressed the criminal complaint to the Special Prosecutor's Office in July, but it passed the case over to the Anti-corruption Office. The Judicial Council later suspended Paluda over the complaint and proposed disciplinary proceedings against him aimed at throwing him off the bench.
