Stats: Harmonised Inflation at Historic Low in Slovakia

Bratislava, February 26 (TASR) - Slovakia's harmonised inflation, as measured by the EU methodology, stood at its historic low in January, experiencing a decrease of 0.2 percentage points on the year, the Slovak Stats Office reported on Friday.
Following a two-month consecutive stagnation at zero (or, 100 percent), the harmonised inflation index fell by 0.2 percent (and the same figure in percentage points) on the month to 99.8 percent in January.
According to the latest data, price shifts included a hike of 0.47 percent in groceries, and by 0.05 percent in culture and recreation. Conversely, the most significant drops in prices were seen in housing, water, electricity and gas - by 0.4 percent.
