Cabaj: No Doubt that Meciar Will Be No. 1 on HZDS Election Slate

Bratislava, February 26 (TASR) - There's no doubt that the LS-HZDS slate for the parliamentary elections (June 12) will be led by party chairman and erstwhile three-times premier Vladimir Meciar, parliamentary vice-chair and party MP Tibor Cabaj told TASR on Friday.
Cabaj declined to provide any further information about the slate, pointing out that it has to be approved by HZDS Republic Board first (on Friday, March 5). He added that the list will be put together on expert and territorial principle.
Several MPs are expected to feature on the candidate slate, including Katarina Tothova, Miroslav Jurena, Jan Kovarcik, Jozef Halecky, Milan Rehak and party vice-chairs that are not MPs Barbora Strakova, Jozef Habanik and Peter Sika. Also, head of the Republic Board Marian Klenko and Environment Ministry State Secretary Jaroslav Jadus should get among the first twenty candidates.
Conversely, serving MPs Ludmila Muskova, Jozef Tarcak and Beata Saniova have announced that they won't run in the elections.
