Bratislava, February 25 (TASR) - If the possible interference with free-market competition is the only problem with the social enterprises, then that's all right, said Prime Minister Robert Fico after his inspection at the Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Ministry on Thursday.
"If this is what's all about, then it's all right, because we must look for atypical ways to create jobs. If the European Commission (EC) states something different, then we'll have to deal with it seriously," said Fico.
The running of the social enterprises is currently being examined by the EC. With this in mind, Fico expressed full support for Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Minister Viera Tomanova (a member of Smer-SD, which Fico chairs).
A final decision from the EC on whether it will grant money from eurounds for the project is expected in March. According to Fico, the question is whether providing money for social enterprises doesn't represent a form of forbidden state aid.
In the meantime, the project of social enterprises must go on, said Fico, who tasked Tomanova with managing the issue.
