Bratislava, February 25 (TASR) - The governing-coalition Smer-SD party still has a considerable lead over all other political parties, with the latest poll showing that it would have received 38.6-percent support in February.
The survey, carried out between February 3-9 by the Focus agency on a sample of 1,031 respondents, also showed that voter support for Smer shrank by nearly 3 percentage points when compared to the preceding Focus poll carried out in mid-January.
In addition, the poll showed that second place would have gone to the opposition SDKU-DS party on 11.3 percent, down from the 15.2 percent indicated in the January survey.
The poll also found that the Christian Democrats (KDH) and fledgling right-wing Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) would have come joint third on 9.6 percent.
The 5-percent threshold needed to win seats in Parliament would also have been reached by the Slovak National Party (SNS) on 6.2 percent, LS-HZDS (5.8 percent), Most-Hid (5.6 percent) and the ethnic-Hungarian SMK party (5.1 percent).
A total of 15.6 percent of those questioned would not have taken part in a vote, while 19.1 percent were undecided as to whom to vote for or were reluctant to answer.
